Assign an onboarding buddy for day-to-day questions
Walk through current projects and priorities
Set up recurring 1:1 with manager
Share team communication preferences (Slack, email, async)
Days 31-60
Engage & Contribute -- Increase ownership and deepen integration into team workflows.
First feedback check-in (how are things going?)
Include in team decisions and brainstorms
Assign a small independent project or ownership area
Review and clarify role expectations and success metrics
Introduce to key cross-functional stakeholders
Encourage participation in team retros and planning
Days 61-90
Own & Grow -- Transition to full team membership and set up for long-term success.
Formal 90-day review conversation
Gather feedback from team on integration
Discuss longer-term goals and growth areas
Transition from onboarding buddy to full independence
Celebrate a first win or milestone
